Kilometre allowance — employee’s own vehicle
We have a number of technical staff who are directed to work at different client sites to install or maintain equipment. If an employee uses their own vehicle, is not transporting heavy equipment or tools, and remains at the location for the full day (ie. they drive to and from the worksite from home), are they entitled to claim a kilometre allowance (we usually pay 0.70c per km)? Medical appointment on company time
Our company currently has an employee on ‘suitable duties’. Each week he sees his doctor on company time — finishes his shift early or leaves during the day and comes back. Due to restructuring of company we are unable to allow him this time, and are hoping to ask him to see his doctor in his own time. Is there any legislation or requirements that cover this situation?
